Taverna Galija - Cavtat - Hrvatska

...this wasn't an accidental discovery. I red about Taverna Galija in one magazine. Knowing things in advance might result in high expectations and disappointment. This one was so much better than I expected. Well, they didn't have any sea urchin caviar, so I couldn't order Orgasm plate (they serve only absolutely fresh ingredients) but trying sea-eggs was too close to hedonism as well! It looks like a lump of seaweed, cut in half and served raw - yellow liquid to be eaten with spoon from soft purple shell. Gentle bitter aroma of sea touches your tongue and floats up to your nostrils enough to enhance the experience.

Gastronomy offer of the Taverna Galija is dedicated to the traditional specialties and brand new creations of young culinary masters. Cheese, sea urchins, shrimps in honey, octopus, oysters, motar, seafood risotto, ... are just a small part of specialties that make getting a free table in our restaurant even more difficult without previous reservation. Beside the Franciscan Monastery, on the peninsula Rat, you can enjoy dinner on a wonderful terrace with a wonderful view over Cavtat bay and the old town. Come and see it for yourselves!
